I wish we had "bottom line" after every class. Like the main takeaway. I heard so many different things today that I have no idea what the takeaway is.
I would really appreciate a summary led by Anthony, Gaia, and Prof. Nesson since our breakout rooms aren't necessarily getting to the main takeaways and we often discuss other topics
Also, even with the foreperson and a TA in our group, not everyone talked or even seemed engaged. Would be nice if we could all hold ourselves to engaging in that space so the conversation is more worthwhile.
I liked having a TA in the group, and I like that they appointed a foreperson. That avoids the drawn out and awkward situation of us having to pick a foreperson among ourselves.
Maybe the TAs should be the forepoerson themselves. That way everyone can substantively participate, and the TA can make sure that everyone is engaged. The TA can still maybe assign one person to take notes on the discussion and then report the summary to the main group.
I think TA/Foreperson is most effective when they give a single prompt. Giving long lists of questions all at once can make the conversation difficult to follow since people respond to different questions or forget what has been said
