The DCS revamp project is in progress. So far, we have submitted the first two deliverables and are now in the consultancy phase of the project. We have met with the on National Security as well as the Commissioner and all other staff related to what is happening on the ground currently and what can be done to take things forward The consultations have gone well so far. Most of the participants involved believe that current programs don't work because of the lack of appreciation and compensation for staff members there is little or no time to carry out duties of rehabilitation as the duties of security take precedence Staff members who are asked to carry out additional task are seldom if ever paid for additional services which leaves the members feeling unappreciated and thus demotivated Officers no matter the rank share the belief that they are not respected by leadership. they feel like they are excluded from and are not being recognized as members of the security forces.
